1. Monthly Review
In early December of 2017, Chinese downstream consumers continued to watch the market and delay settling replenishment. In mid-December, metal and magnet plants purchased raw material, the separation plants raised their offers rapidly owing to firm production cost, so the price hit the bottom and rebounded up quickly
. During the latter half of December, PrNd, dysprosium, terbium prices moved up, while lanthanum, cerium, yttrium and europium prices slid and stayed relatively stable at the end of this month . By end of December, most magnet plants held insufficient stocks, but demand from phosphor powder, catalytic, glass, ceramic glaze, polishing powder and hydrogen storage alloy industries kept weak . Insiders predicted that magnet relevant raw materials would increase further, but lanthanum, cerium, yttrium and europium prices would drop a bit further due to heavy stocks.
