1. Market Highlights
Influenced by the relatively low profit, steel mills were not active in producing CRC or HGI coil in December, causing reducing stocks in Chinese major markets. In addition, Mills announced to increase list prices one after another. As a consequence, traders tried to lift prices and kept them firm in the month. However, with the demand from downstream consumers shrinking, prices went to downward trend in the end of the month. Considering the long holiday for Chinese New Year is coming, the demand from downstream industries will become weaker and weaker and participants will be more cautious. Insiders predict that prices of CRC and HGI coil will come down in the coming month.
