Wire rod and rebar prices in major markets of China went up obviously during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and the price increase in futures market. In addition, some steel mills could not keep the regular production affected by the environmental protection inspection and the supply for construction steels decreased accordingly. However, seeing the sharp price increase, customers without urgent need for materials were just taking a cautious attitude and refusing to place orders. Insiders suppose the market will keep quiet in the coming month.
