In October, the US dollar index stopped dropping and went up to as high as 95. LME copper stocks began to decline while SHFE copper stocks edged up. Both international and domestic copper prices dropped after touching new high. With downstream demand weakening in Chinese market, copper prices stopped at RMB56,000/t (USD8,435/t). In late October, LME copper prices closed USD6,830/t while copper prices in Chinese market closed at RMB53,700/t (USD8,089/t).
