1. Market Highlights
The tungsten market continued to move tepidly in October with decreasing prices and sluggish deals. Tungsten concentrate prices declined by about RMB4,000/t (USD9.27/mtu) from last month; APT prices dropped by about RMB7,000/t (USD11.9/mtu); tungsten powder prices also registered an delayed additional decrease and moved downwards rapidly, down by about RMB15/kg (USD2.26/kg) from last month.
The overseas market saw limited enquires with continuously decreasing deals. Affected by exchange rates, Chinese APT exporters were in low interests in lowering prices and APT prices gradually stabilized later this month on the overseas market; however, overseas ferrotungsten market saw inactive deals with slipping prices as traders in Russia and Europe released cheap stocks.
