HR strip prices in major markets of China saw a downward trend during this month mainly because of lower raw material costs and decrease in steel mills’ list prices. Some steel mills still could not keep the regular production because of the environmental protection inspection, and the supply decreased accordingly. Nevertheless, customers without urgent need for materials were expecting the price to drop further and placing orders sparingly. Insiders think the market will continue to be quiet in the coming month on weak customer demand.
