The Chinese molybdenum market performed well during August. Prices for primary molybdenum products like molybdenum concentrate, molybdenum oxide and ferromolybdenum increased sharply to the highest level of the year and then stood steady after consolidation and minor retreats; prices for molybdenum chemical products represented by ammonium molybdate and sodium molybdate kept up with the upward trend in raw material prices, but the market saw limited deals owing to the slack season for consumption; prices for molybdenum products like molybdenum powder, molybdenum rods, molybdenum wires and molybdenum bars also continued to rise. The molybdenum market witnessed much more activity this month than July.
