Prices for steel pipe showed a strong upward trend during the month boosted by prices soars of raw materials. More and more mills in Shandong province, the distributing center for seamless pipe were forced to halt production because of the restrict environmental protection inspection, and the supply for seamless pipe was reduced obviously, stimulating both producers and traders to raise prices. However, the market performance remained unsatisfactory because of the weak downstream demand, and traders were cautious about supplementing inventories. Insiders forecast a further price rise in September.
