Prices for section steel recorded a mark-up of RMB80-200/t (USD12-30/t) in major Chinese domestic markets during the month, mainly boosted by significant prices increases in of raw materials as well as those in the steel market. Besides, traders held cautiously optimistic attitudes towards the market outlook seeing the overall low stockpile but the poor sales performance. Meanwhile, end users were inactive in purchasing seeing the rapid price increase, for fear of a sudden falling back. Considering prices for raw materials keep increasing because of the tight supply caused by restrict environmental protection inspection, insiders deem the price for section steel is likely to go on rising in August.
