Prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China saw an upward trend during this month mainly supported by the low market inventory and increase in steel mills’ list prices, and those of grain oriented electrical steel were generally stable. However, customers without urgent need for materials were still holding a wait-and-see attitude and refusing to place orders. Seeing the higher purchase cost and weak customer demand, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles and the market inventory remained low. Insiders think the market will continue to be quiet in the coming month.
