Prices for steel pipe in China kept decreasing in the first three weeks of the month, while they showed signs of rebounding in the fourth one boosted by significant prices increases of raw materials, and the market performance warmed up accordingly. However, traders were still not so confident of the market prospect seeing sharp declines in March-April and cautious about supplementing inventories. After all, May is not the high season for pipe. Considering the market inventory was reduced obviously in the last two weeks of the month and delivery from mill was also cut, insiders think the price for steel pipe is likely to go up slightly in May.
