Prices for steel plate went up sharply during the month because of significant prices increase of raw materials, but the overall market performance remained unsatisfactory. On the one hand, the rigid demand was absent in the traditional off-season, while on the other hand, end users were scared of the sharp and continuous price increase and inactive in placing orders, both leading to a tranquil market. In the meantime, the overall market inventory increased obviously during the month with the arrival of new materials. Insiders foresee a further price increase in March.
