Section steel market ran slowly in January affected by Spring Festival and processing plants of section steel in North China even suspended production in early January and mainstream steel plants also decreased output during Spring Festival, leading to limited section steel output this month. Besides, the shutdown of sites also leaded to limited downstream demand. Large section steel traders believed that market will be more active after Spring Festival. Sites start work and transactions will increase. Market prices will rise. Therefore, Asian Metal expected that section steel prices will rise in February.
