With the Spring Festival approaching, the Chinese tantalum-niobium market saw sporadic deals in January. Most consumers and suspended purchasing and left the market for the holiday; furthermore, smelters in China have stayed out of the production and tended to continue to hold back from sales, waiting for that the market would pick up after the Spring Festival. Affected by the rainy season in Africa, international producers reduced the production, so they were not anxious about selling the material with large volumes.
