Abstract: In January, in terms of the domestic market, around Spring Festival, Chinese zircon sand and zirconium silicate markets saw stable prices but slow transactions. Zirconium chemicals’ market witnessed steady prices and tight supply. Fused zirconia consumers finished adding stocks, resulting in slack deals. Zirconium sponge prices hovered in the low levels but with recovery signs in the latter months.
As to the foreign zircon sands’ market, RBM and Tronox moved up zircon sand export prices by USD30-40/t and USD50/t respectively from January 1st, 2017, while Iluka would increase zircon prices from February 15th, 2017. Indonesian producers raised offers for zircon sands.
