Prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China witnessed an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills’ list prices, while those of grain oriented electrical steel went down further on weak customer demand. Domestic steel producers such as Baosteel and WISCO all raised their list prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel for January production obviously. Insiders believe oriented electrical steel prices are likely to keep stable in the coming month.
