As the freight cost and raw materials coal and petroleum prices increased sharply, Chinese silicon metal market kept moving up in October and all grades silicon metal price saw rise. The mainstream price of 5-5-3 on the spot market went up by RMB150/t (USD22/t) to RMB9,500-9,700/t (USD1,403-1,433/t) delivered to ports in October. Chinese silicon metal export market saw more inquiries in October. Following the domestic price trend, Chinese silicon metal export prices went up in October, but the prices did not see sharp price rise due to the continual depreciation of RMB against US dollars.
