Prices for steel pipe increased sharply in most Chinese domestic markets during the month, mainly boosted by rising raw materials’ prices of raw materials and the short supply. Asian Metal statistics showed that seamless pipe ex-works price witnessed a total markup of 16% in October, so that traders moved up prices in succession. Nevertheless, sharp and continuous prices increases heightened end users’ wait-and-see attitudes and they just purchased according to urgent needs, leading to a tranquil market, despite a nationwide price soar. Considering prices for raw materials keep rising sharply, insiders foresee a further price increase of steel pipe.
