In August, as some plants resumed their production and some enlarged their output, the supply of magnesium ingot increased accordingly. However, due to the slow demand, the prices of magnesium ingot dropped by about RMB700/t (USD105/t) in early of August. In the following two weeks of this month, the prices fluctuated continually on the relationship between supply and demand. In the last week of this month, pushed by the price up of the ferrosilicon and buyers’ hand-to-mouth purchasing style, the prices held firm.
