Chinese HR strip prices went up sharply during the month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills’ list prices. As steel billet prices increased, HR strip producers raised their prices accordingly. However, seeing the sharp price increase, customers with no urgent need for materials just took a cautious attitude and refused to place orders. Insiders do not believe the price will move up further in the coming month.
