In May, in terms of domestic market, Chinese zircon sand suppliers held price firm and reduced output as a reaction to thin profits caused by price competition from overseas suppliers. Zirconium chemicals also saw stable prices with steady demand. Zirconium silicate, fused zirconia and zirconium sponge market remained inactive with sliding prices.
In overseas zircon sand market, because of slow demand, Australian, South African and Indonesian zircon sands’ prices declined in different degrees.
