Prices for steel pipe kept falling during the month due to sliding raw material prices and the poor sales performance. Given their lack of confidence in the market outlook, traders refused to build large stockpiles and simply supplemented them according to grade shortages. Meanwhile, end users were waiting for prices to decline further and held back from placing orders in view of the downward price trend, which resulted in a stagnant market. Insiders predict that the steel pipe price is likely to decrease further in June.
