Chinese HR strip prices witnessed a downward trend during the month mainly because of lower raw material costs and weak customer demand. As steel billet prices went down sharply, HR strip producers decreased their prices accordingly. Besides, customers with no urgent need for materials just held a wait-and-see attitude and placed orders sparingly. Insiders do not suppose the market will improve in the coming month.
