In early and mid April, the majority of silicon metal plants in South China remained out of production, so the supply of low grade silicon metal was still very tight. However, more participants predict the price will fall down as it has hit the peak with many people choosing to stay on the sidelines. In late April, producers in Yunnan and Sichuan started preparing for resumption and the price of low grade silicon metal edged down to respond this situation.
