Non-grain oriented electrical steel prices in major domestic cities maintained an upward trend during the month, as a result of higher raw material prices and steel producers’ limited supply. However, grain oriented electrical steel prices failed to increase accordingly, lacking support from downstream demand. Since producers’ ex-works prices for May delivery continued to rise, insiders believe that Chinese electrical steel prices will go up on the whole next month.
