In March, Chinese ferrosilicon prices moved up. In early month, large ferrosilicon producers raised prices sharply. However, downstream market demand remained weak and consumers postponed purchasing. In late month, producers had to lower prices again to release inventory and financial pressure. Meanwhile, the production operation rates in Qinghai and Inner Mongolia increased a bit. By the end of the month, the prices for ferrosilicon 72%min jumped about 4.8%, and those for ferrosilicon 75%min moved up by 6.9%.
