In March, cadmium ingot prices rose quickly with a large markup in overseas and domestic markets because of the strong demand from Indian consumers. As the supply of cadmium ingots soon became limited, it was hard for consumers to get the material. Most insiders were optimistic about the future market prospects and thought the price of cadmium ingots still had room to go up.
Impacted by the rising price of cadmium ingots, cadmium oxide prices also saw a large markup. Cadmium oxide producers indicated that it was hard for them to purchase cadmium ingots in the spot market with some holding back from selling.
