In March, the demand from downstream industries was still soft and the antimony market continued going down. Prices for antimony concentrate, antimony ingots and antimony trioxide slipped further with a sharp markdown in both the Chinese and overseas markets. It became apparent that most smelters were operating at reduced rates due to the low concluded prices this month. Participants took a wait-and-see attitude towards future market developments and were pessimistic in their outlook.
