Non-grain oriented electrical steel prices witnessed a sharp upward trend in major domestic cities during the month due to higher raw material prices. However, grain oriented electrical steel prices decreased again as a result of the weak downstream demand. Since ex-works prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel for April delivery from leading producers continued to increase, insiders believe that Chinese non-grain oriented electrical steel prices will maintain the upward trend in April. However, grain oriented electrical steel prices are likely to be stable as a whole with downstream industries remaining sluggish.
