Generally speaking, the Chinese molybdenum market was flat throughout February as consumers were cautious in making purchases both before and after the Spring Festival. Although the price demonstrated stability in early February, it started to soften after the holiday as some producers, pressured by the slow returning of consumers and the quietness of the market, lowered quotations to stimulate sales. Besides, while many consumers kept standing by the sideline after the holiday, participants paid great attention on the tender prices of the major steel mills, which are often considered as the wind vane of the market.
