In December, Chinese ferrosilicon market remains dim with sliding prices continuously. In early December, most of producers in Qinghai province reduced production due to weak demand and increased electricity fee. However, the output and stocks in Inner Mongolia was still large, so the fierce competition between producers caused the prices to drop further. In late December, the producers in Inner Mongolia raised the offers sharply as the purchasing volume of steel mills will increase in January. By the end of the month, and the prices for ferrosilicon 72%min had fallen by7.18% with those for ferrosilicon 75%min dropping by 10.9%.
