Chinese silicon metal prices fell sharply in November. The operating rate of silicon metal smelters in Yunnan and Sichuan decreased continually since late November and silicon metal prices stabilized gradually. Chinese silicon metal prices increased in December due to the decreasing output. However, as the demand in Chinese local and overseas markets saw no big improvement, the silicon metal prices did not rebound sharply. As Chinese silicon metal prices stabilized and picked up gradually, the export market saw more transactions in the first half of December while calmed down again in late December with the arrival of winter holidays in overseas market.
