The Chinese molybdenum market moved down marginally in November with transactions sporadic as producers started to gradually reduce their inventories
. Chinese ferromolybdenum prices continued to drop slightly, but the decline was limited, constrained by production costs . At present, there are signs that demand for ferromolybdenum from steel mills will weaken further . Molybdenum concentrate prices held steady on the whole and producers faced little stock pressure at the end of the month . Some of them held off making deals, while others raised their quotations . As demand for molybdenum chemicals continued to decrease, producers had difficulty in selling the material and generally held a large amount of stocks . Prices for molybdenum products also went down marginally, andit became more apparent that downstream demand would remain relatively weak, but producers of molybdenum products obtained better profit margins when compared with upstream producers.
