The rare earth market rebounded a bit in September
. Although the demand from downstream industry remained flat, the prices for PrNd, neodymium and dysprosium related products increased as a result of some rare earth separation plants(“separation plants” for short)’ production halts . Suppliers were grudging in selling . The persistently soft demand continued to result in limited buying activities and dropping prices in europium and yttrium markets . The markets for lanthanum and cerium related products were still controlled by purchasers and buyers were in no hurry to purchase . Suppliers had to accept price declines in order to gain the limited orders . As some separation plants are supposed to keep ceasing production, it is predicted that the prices for PrNd, neodymium and dysprosium related products will keep going up a bit, but the excessive supply will keep depressing prices for europium, yttrium, lanthanum and cerium related products in October.
