During the first half of August, price of Chinese selenium powder 99.9%min plunged and then leveled off at the end of the month. The price continued to see new lows, especially over the first half of August, due to poor demand, while towards the second half month most producers showed reluctance in selling, resulting in a stable price trend. On the same track, selenium dioxide reached the lowest level in price in August on placid demand, but the price rebounded slightly as most producers became reluctant to sell, and finally the price found stability.
China’s tellurium 99.99%min continued to move down over August with decreased amplitude of RMB30/kg, though the drop was not as significant as in July. The demand from refrigeration industry remained feeble in August as Chinese tellurium producers held a large amount of stocks, forcing the price of Chinese tellurium continue to drift off. But currently the drop in the price has decreased after seeing significant declines.
