Steel output decreased slightly in the month as the coming military parade to be held in Beijing forced steel mills around Beijing to cut operation for the sake of the environment. On expectation of decreasing supply, prices of steel products rebounded in China and steel raw materials market also benefited as well. Imported iron ore market stayed volatile in the month. The soaring futures market also pushed upward the spot market but due to decreasing demand, the prices declined again later the month. Most insiders are cautious about future market especially when China’s economy slows down.
