Both the Chinese and foreign molybdenum markets remained sluggish in July with weakening prices. During the first half the month, ferromolybdenum, molybdenum concentrate and molybdenum oxide saw drastic declines in the prices within the Chinese market as the steel mills started calling for bids, and transactions were rare as well. For the second half of the month, transactions and enquires improved as the prices leveled off. However, molybdenum chemicals market remained flat with dismal sales for producers. The molybdenum product price started falling down as the price of the raw material and demand softened.
