Chinese silicon metal price kept generally stable in mid-June and began to drop again in late June due to the weak demand and increasing output in Southern China. The supply for silicon metal in China increased further in early July while the demand remained weak, and silicon metal price dropped further. The overall silicon metal market was quiet in July with few purchasing activities. Chinese silicon metal export market was in thin trading in July and the price moved down continually. Some overseas market participants entered the summer vacation and the export market saw few inquiries.
