Chinese zircon market saw no improvements in early May and the overall market remained slow. The purchasing activities in domestic and import market were few and most deals were through long-term orders. The quotations of imported zircon sand were stable, however, the market trading was thin and the transaction prices for some bulk purchase decreased slightly. As the imported ore supply tightened, Chinese domestically produced zircon sand price was firm. In the second half of May, with the recovery of downstream ceramic industry, Chinese zircon market saw more deals, however, the overall trading volume was not too large to push up the prices.
