The construction steel market in China continued to run slowly, with prices falling in leading markets in May. Steel mills cut ex-works prices for wire rod and rebar during the month, influenced by weakened support from production costs. The demand from downstream consumers was rather stagnant during this time. Insiders predict that prices for construction steels will continue on a downward trend in June.
