Stainless scrap prices did not change much during the month under the steady market. With low inventories in hand and not being confident of the market outlook, most traders preferred to watch the market cautiously rather than adjust their quotations rashly. Besides, they were inactive in replenishing inventories. Although prices for raw materials soared in the last two weeks of April, those for stainless scrap were hard to rise significantly due to the soft demand from downstream industries. Insiders think the stainless scrap price is likely to run on a flat trend in May.
