Prices for Chinese stainless flat steel products went up slightly in April supported by higher nickel prices, but those of stainless long steel products maintained a downward trend as a result of weak customer demand. Having no confidence in the forthcoming market developments, traders were reluctant to hold a large volume of stocks and the market continued to be sluggish. Insiders predict the Chinese stainless steel market will struggle to improve in May.
