The spot market for indium ingot 99.99%min in China continued to be quiet with few transactions. Prices for the indium ingots 99.99%min kept stable at the beginning of March as it was just after the Spring Festival. Though the continuous stockpiling by the exchange kept on, the purchasing volumes were small and could hardly stabilize the market. So during the second half of the month, the prices dropped to RMB2,900-3,000/kg (USD468-483/kg), down by RMB400/kg (USD65/kg) compared with those at the end of February.
Meanwhile, the mainstream prices for Chinese germanium metal 99.99%min also decreased by RMB100/kg (USD16/kg) to RMB11,700-12,100/kg (USD1,887-1,952/kg) during March. Downstream market remained quiet with scant purchasing activity on the spot market. Apart from those associated with long-term contracts, the market witnessed very few inquiries. The stockpile from the government is still unclear, but most suppliers were still looking forward to it.
