Chinese domestic and export markets saw more transactions in the first half of March. As a reaction to the tight supply, the price for 5-5-3 rose fast at the time. The market for high-grade silicon metal was weak and the prices decreased slightly. In late March, the overall silicon metal market was quiet with decreasing purchasing activities and the mainstream transaction prices moved down. Chinese chemical grade silicon metal market was dull in March and the price dropped further. The inquiries in Chinese silicon metal export market increased in the first half of March, while the overall trading volume has not seen big increase.
