The Chinese section steel market remained sluggish during March, with prices in some cities demonstrating a downward trend. Most end users only purchased in sufficient quantities to meet their urgent needs, so downstream demand showed no signs of releasing in March. However, insiders believe downstream demand will gradually become stronger in April as the weather gets warmer. Moreover, the supply is likely to be tight next month as many steel mills will be required to shut down their furnaces to reduce air pollutants. As a result, insiders believe section steel prices will increase to some extent in April.
