Some silicon metal consumers added stocks before the Spring Festival holiday (February 18th to 24th) and Chinese silicon metal market saw more inquiries for 5-5-3. Southern China was still in the dry season with low operating rate for smelters and the inventory on the spot market was not large. The prices for 5-5-3 increased slightly and those for higher grade silicon metal were relatively stable at the time. After the Spring Festival holiday, silicon metal smelters kept offers stable temporarily and most market participants inclined to watch the market. Chinese silicon metal export market saw more inquiries after the Spring Festival holiday.
