Prices for HR strip in China’s leading markets showed differing trends during February. Prices in Guangzhou rose slightly, supported by the tight supply, while prices in other markets, such as Tianjin and Shanghai, were either stable or on a downward trend. The sales performance for most domestic HR strip traders was unsatisfactory, lacking any strong support from downstream demand. Insiders believe HR strip prices in March will decline on the whole.
