In January, Chinese vanadium prices continued to slide. The slack demand from the downstream market and abundant supply depressed the Chinese vanadium market. Some producers began to reduce production or only produced on demand because they have already been in deficit. Insiders lack confidence in the market in the near term. Turning to the Chinese vanadium export market, the spot demand was poor and most exporters could only make deals with regular clients. It’s hard for them to make new deals. Under the fierce competition within the market, Chinese vanadium export prices dropped along with the sliding Chinese domestic prices.
