The rare earth downstream industries remained flat in January. However, impacted by separation plants’ production halt and the news that the State Reserve Bureau will carry out national storage later, suppliers were reluctant to reduce stocks and raised the prices for PrNd, neodymium, dysprosium and terbium related products. Consumers adopted hand-to-mouth purchasing strategy, which resulted in slow buying activities in rare earth market. Suppliers were confident about the market in the near term. It is predicted that suppliers will continue to raise rare earth prices in February.
