With buyers from the ceramics and glass industries purchasing from hand to mouth, the Chinese selenium 99.9%min market remained flat in November. To stimulate more sales, the mainstream prices of the material were reduced to RMB375-395/kg (USD61.3-64.5/kg), down by RMB5/kg (USD0.8/kg). In addition, selenium dioxide prices dropped sharply due to the declining price of manganese flakes and fierce competition among suppliers. At the end of November, mainstream prices for selenium dioxide slipped back to RMB230-240/kg (USD37.6-39.2/kg), down by RMB37/kg (USD6.1/kg) compared with late October.
Meanwhile, Chinese tellurium 99.99%min prices continued to slip in November. To achieve deals, suppliers were forced to accept lower prices from end users. The market only saw sporadic deals as customers tended to purchase from hand to month in small volumes. The weak downstream demand resulted in the price of tellurium 99.99% declining by RMB30/kg (USD4.9/kg) to RMB660-690/kg (USD107.8-112.7/kg).
